Finally found the article....ACTOS, pioglitazone, states that Type II
diabetics who take it tend to gain weight.  Typical weight gains in the
study were 5 pounds after 12 months, 8.5 pounds as 12 months and 12 pounds
after 30 months.

The study stated that the weight gain(and it is NOT fluid retention> is
similar to that expereienced by type2's on solfonyluera therapy.
