      SEX SURVEY OF TEEN GIRLS

Teenage girls are more sexually active than their parents would care to
believe, a new survey reveals.
The Bliss Magazine study found almost a quarter of 14-year-old girls have
already had sex with at least one partner.


Most of them did not use protection and around 60% said they had sex after
drinking alcohol.

The survey of 2,000 teenage girls across Britain with an average age of 14.5
years is the most comprehensive of its kind.

It found half of those girls who have had sex regretted their experience.

It also discovered that 70% of all 14-year-olds wanted more information
about love and sex.

Despite their early sexual encounters, the vast majority of 14-year-olds
still held on to old-fashioned values.

Some 94% said love, affection and romance was more important to them than
sex.

Editor Lisa Smosarski said: "The figures are extremely worrying -
particularly the number of partners girls have had.

"Peer pressure from their friends plays a great role in this - they are
desperate not to be the last virgin in school, but often they are not
emotionally mature enough to deal with the situation."
