subject: FLASHROM UPGRADE

Hello Patrick....I have a 288E on my bbs and a 288I on my WWW
        machine.
I have tried to get the *.SB7 upgrades installed, but can't seem
        to get it to work.

My com prog. is QModem ver. 5.01 (the original), and hardware
flow control is ON, XON/XOFF is OFF, and speed set to 38400,
which is the locked speed I use with X00 fossil.

In QModem you use Page down for Download, Page up for Upload.
In the instructions for the upgrades, it says to tell your com
prg to "send" the file using XMODEM.
I told QM to upload the file. It comes up on screen, but
nothing happens except for a number of errors. At the bottom of
the QM screen, Status line says "not available on this modem.

I have successfully installed the 1440-14 and -15 upgrades and
they work great, except for losing connections and carrier drops
on the BBS. Bothe modems show that they support 33.6k speeds.

Will there be an executable (1440-16, -17, -18, etc.) to run
once the beta stage is finished? To me the executable is the
best and easiest way to go for the user.

My Inet address is bigun@gnv.fdt.net if you wish to reply that
way. I get this echo on my BBS, so will get it either way.

Thanks for a Super modem! And for the super support!
