From: "Gary Britt"
Ubuntu, Open Suse, Mandriva, Kubuntu with honorable mentions to Linspire
(failed condition: best suited for desktops) and Xandros (failed condition:
not suitable for laptops).
Based on what little I know, out of that list Kubuntu and Xandros seem the
best for me, but I'd need to clear up the laptop thing for Xandros.
Mandriva and Kubuntu have the advantage of a live CD to play with before
installing. Some PCMag variant said recently the latest version of Xandros
was the absolute best for windows people just moving over to Linux and
wanting a more familiar experience. One of their test machines I believe
was a laptop so I'm confused about the "not suitable for laptops thing
in the Distro Chooser thingy.
