You can make copies of terminal icons and edit their individual startup
parameters. I don't use Gnome these days, but I don't recall it being
difficult - look for the part of the emulator command which runs bash and
change it to something like "(cd /whatever/directory;/bin/bash)".

There are many other ways, but that seems the simplest one likely to work.
