The specs seem pretty standard - 5400RPM drives, Core I5 CPU, integrated
Intel graphics. I hope the build quality compares to older IBM/Lenovo
models.

It seems like Lenovo is back on track with regards to build quality.

T40 series laptops were bulletproof, one of the most reliable laptops I've
seen (ed note: my primary system is a 7 year old T42)

T60s suffered in build quality, were slow. We had lots of broken plastic
with T60s, T42s survived much more.

T400s seem pretty nice.

I spent a lot of time on (work provided) X60s, I'm tempted to put buy a
dual-core X100 for personal use. Although my eyes are getting worse and my
shoulder's acting up, I may add some weight to get the T400's bigger
screen.
