You're probably right. Soc.men has consisted of the same (few) basic
people for years now, constantly rotating their aliases. ...Same hokey
personalities, same non-views, same predictable responses under every
one.

Yeah, definitely. There is no ideological difference between
conservatives and liberals. I've always said this. It's true on
gender issues, and it's true on religious issues. The two party system
is simply a middle class vs. working class debate, to the benefit of
the rich and the detriment of the poor.

The working class and the middle class were longstanding enemies who
were both liberal democrats, politically. The working class hated the
middle class because they typically worked for them as unionized manual
laborers. They saw them as snobby, pencil-pushing elitists. The
Republicans wooed the working class by playing on this. They blurred
the distinctions between middle and working, and started treating them
like the middle.

Today's neocon mindlessly follows his greater class enemy for no other
reason or remuneration than to thumb his nose at his lesser class
enemy. The Republicans have given him just a lot of talk for his
support. While he rests on the evaporating accomplishments of his
liberal fore-fathers, Republicans like Bush haven't even fulfilled
their number one ideological promise to him of cutting his taxes.

Joe Middle Class Republican, who inherited most of what he got from the
old union days, doesn't care, though. He's enjoying himself too much
by taking refuge in the blame game. He won't open his eyes until he
has blithely handed over every last hard fought, and won, gain and
right that put him where he is now - from where he is able to now talk
so big against his hated true middle class rivals.

When the con has finally lost its veneer, and Joe is finally shown one
door to the street too many, Bush - or whoever - isn't going to care
for him as his base. The rich are the Republicans' base. Always were.
The working class never were. Republican's will simply update
"terrorist" profiles to include white male office workers who go
postal.

And, when Joe's eyes finally do pop open he may also start noticing
their mutual support for other so-called "liberal" ideas like "anger
management".

Before Bush, a canard like "hate" was considered a presumptuous
intrusion which was the domain of the "thought police". But, Bush is
up there using it all the time. And, that's not the only one, either.
Especially, where Men's Issues are impacted. However, no discernible
peeping can be heard emanating from the neocons, on these waffles.

Conservative issues are all, basically, strawmen issues.......
