| subject: | Re: ATM Gugolz 64 operating rage........? |
From: "Bob May" To: "atmlist" Reply-To: "Bob May" Some of the "conventional wisdom" tends to indicate that the number on the pitch is the basic operating temp in deg. F. I'm not too sure about that but the lower number on the pitch does indicate that it is a softer pitch and since pitch is very sensitive to temp, I'd consider that pitch if the working temp in the room is going to be very cool. I'll also note that for the amateur, the actual pitch is relatively unimportant as the average amateur has no idea of how pitch acts with any particular work and thus is on the steep learning curve with the whole process and thus, the characteristics of the pitch are less important to him as he will adapt to the pitch as he goes along. The pro tends to more prefer his pitch to stay the same from batch to batch and tends to work in a more temp stable enviroment, adjusting his pitch for warmer or cooler days to his desire.
