DOSemu under Linux might be something to try to.  It's actually pretty easy
to set up and use, however, I'm not 100% sure if a DOS BBS will run well
under DOSemu.  My main experience with DOSemu is running DOS doors using
MBSE which handles all of the "front-end" issues, so I may just be talking
out my fourth point of contact on this one.
