Frankly, I don't think they really care! The only thing I want to make

Some of them simply don't understand specs and are thrown around without
any understanding. It is the same with statistics. You could have
numbers says anything you would like if you don't take into account test
conditions!

No, acoustics is another thing! I taking pure components specs. The same
speaker could have BOTH thoses specs listed, but 40-16 +/- 1dB is a lot
more precise and less misleading than 20-20K +/-3dB!!
