Hmmm, I have a hard time agreeing with this--did Mr. Shanker really ask
businesses? Seems to be putting his own perceptions on education. I wonder
again about the source of information about our graduates being poorly
prepared. The business that doesn't care will be doomed to failure
eventually, especially in the next 25 years. As the post pointed out, it
is important.
It is interesting that the current company that leads car sales is a "Deming"
based company - Saturn - Every employee has to go to school at the company's
expense. (by Deming, I mean founded on the principles of W. Edward Deming,
the quality expert)
