I live a couple of miles outside the city limits, not far enough to
worry about. Used to live a block from CSX main, right near the
quartermaster hump. ( They didn't grade the right of way too well, I
think they were coming from two directions and didn't quite meet up.)
When they were digging for the floodwall in the Southern Rail Yard, I
overheard one of the construction people say they hit 6 layers of
tracks. Whenever they had a Major flood they must have just started all
over instead of trying to repair what they had. We also have the triple
crossover here in town, and the train buried under church hill in the
old C&O tunnel which collapsed upon it in 1925.
