I have pondered this paradox and have this thought. I take another
type of stimulant called Cylert. It definitely makes me more hyper
but the increase in the ability to concentrate puts me in control of
my behaviour. i.e. I am more hyper on the inside but less hyper on
the outside. This makes sense to me at least. Sometimes the energy
still gets away on me though.
