Now that depends on what the "normal" lifestyle is supposed to be. 
Pairing off isn't the only way of being part of what I consider to be a
normal lifestyle....  there's room for individuals, for groups, for
parents, for children, for siblings, for young and old, for friendships, 
as well as for couples, whether married or not.
