KD>You said something like: someone takes my money without me ever
ealizing,
KD>that fair or not ? I said it was not fair, because if that person did not
KD>exist I would have that money.
Either way you're not getting money that rightfuly belongs to you.
KD>But when we talk about software it is my decision to use the software or
not
KD>If I don't use it, I don't pay for it, that's obvious. Now, what if I use
a
KD>software I know I can't pay for ?
Two things. Just because you can't afford something does that mean you
should steal? So if i can't afford a TV I should steal it?
KD>You say the author loses profit. I say t
KD>is not so obvious, because we supposed that I can no way have enough money
t
KD>pay him. And of course, if I can't try a software I won't pay for it.
That's your progative.
KD>But if I try a software (which is illegal with market releases now)
A lot of companies offer demo programs. If you pirate from a friend you
can try theirs on their computer.
KD>I may bu
KD>it in the future when I will have enough money. Why ? For example
ecause
KD>don't want to be fined or jailed, and I will be able to afford to support
th
KD>author.
That's said a lot more than it's done. I know a lot of people who
pirate. i don't know anyone who has ever later paid for what the
pirated.
KD>So why is it illegal to try ANY software for at least a few days ?
Give me a break. The only time a pirate only has something on their
computer for a few days is when they don't like it otherwise they keep
it for free.
KD>I'm talking about business programs, not games. As for games, a one hour
fr
KD>trial would also be reasonable.
Which a lot of computer stores have. A lot of the time the have the
games setup on there computers. That goes for other programs too.
KD>did they only loose the price of production, lets say $2 per product
meaning
KD>$20000 ? And what if the ship was on it's way to a country where people
wou
KD>never buy the product, for example a chinese language operating system in
KD>South America ? Did SomeThing software company really loose $1 million
??
KD>I don't think so.
Of course not. The get money for whatever it costs them to replace it.
They potentionaly lost $1 mil. But that's there loss. I'm not sure how
this ties in.
