Hey, for one thing _you_ were the one who originally wanted to make the ZCC
echo read-only for all and when the others didn't agree started up this
echo. Now it looks like you're doing an about-face.

And for another, if your system can't handle read-only echos, you should
change it, since that's no problem with any of the tossers I'm familiar
with. If you like, you can even get the echo from me, since I have no
problem giving you write access, while preventing anyone else from writing
in the echo.

Are you really Ward, or somebody else posting here in his name? If you
really are Ward, this fixation was the second mistake you made - the first
being that you ruled on the van der Vlist PC - and helped bring about the
IC election. Filter anything you don't like or don't want to pass along,
tell your downlinks and leave it to them whether they're satisfied with
that or want another uplink.

And install a tosser that has security settings. I can't believe you're
using something without that option.

You didn't when you started this echo. For heavens' sake, Ward, your
software _can't_ be so primitive that you can't set an echo read-only...
I'm using FastEcho, old as the hills, and it's easy as pie. It's called
"security - read/write" and is very flexible.
