You don't set your "terminal programme" to these DCE rates ... you set
your "terminal programme" to a high enough DTE rate to accommodate the
highest rate that you might ever transfer data at.  For a 33,600
connection, the minimum DTE rate you should use is 57,600 baud and
preferably 115,200 if your "terminal programme" will support that speed.
