I think I wouldn't be much surprised however they were perceived.  All
my kin had come over already before either WW, at least the ones that
came.  I'm not sure, but I think that those left behind were dead before
the wars... certainly most were by WWII.  But the way they had been a
bone of contention forever probably colored their perceptions of any and
all of those vieing for power...
