Don't have understood you completely, AFAIU you want to automate source
updates and binaries build?
I suggest you be in sync with cvs (WinCVS or cvs from cygwin) and compile
sources with MSVC7 by invoking command 'msdev .vcproj'.
IIRC ir is exactly this way to compile sources with MSVC7.
