RG-8/U used to be used for CB base station setups and is closer to the
50-ohm standard than the RG-58/U used for mobile setups (closer to
52-ohms).
There are differences between the /U and regular cable types (just for
general info) but you'd be surprised how many setups I've found that had
segments of /U cable in with the accepted cable types for networking. :)
... and they wondered why they had connectivity problems!
