TP> Then when you finish whatever you're doing and hang up, Win sends TP> something else to the modem and it contains S0=3 (I can check that TP> getting modem's active profile). Right. There are two ways to fix this. You can either edit the .inf file for your modem, and then re-install it; or you can edit the Registry, which is probably faster to do, but is not perminant in that if you ever need to re-install your modem, you'll need to make this change again. Fire up Regedit, (Start - Run - Type "regedit"). Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Modem, then select 0000. If you have more than one modem, you will need to find the right one. There are text values in the right window that will describe the modem. On the right, (with 0000 selected), you will see several keys, the top one being "AttachedTo", value "COMx". Right down the bottom will be a key called "Reset". This is the command sent to the modem when Win95 has finished using the modem. Mine reads "AT", as I changed it from the default "ATZ", so I can get stats from my Courier. Change this to whatever you like, (right click on "Reset" - select "Modify"), remembering to add to the end. I'm not sure what would happen if you simply left it blank, so "AT" would be safest if you didn't want to put anything specific there. This will ... err ... should fix the problem :-) Regards, Frank ...
