The spec in this case doesn't specify much, so you can't really use the
MSGID except for copying into REPLY lines or string compares for dupe
checking.

With the crap that's out there in non-compliant Fido software, I don't
expect tossers to barf on badly formatted MSGID lines. "Be liberal in
what you accept, be strict in what you produce."
