subject: Gary`s Maximus/Squish Archive

Sean:

Another solution would allow a small web page pointing to where the files
could be freq'ed (or downloaded) from internet connected BBS's. I can set
up a small (few Mb) web page with my current ISP, but the bulk of the files
I'd have to leave on my BBS. We could potentially distribute the load by
mirroring the files to a number of BBS's or sites....

SD> Also, I'm giving Joe the entire, unaltered archive of Gary Gilmore's
SD> Maximus/Squish website. He's looking for someone to
SD> host it for him if at all
SD> possible. It's extremely low bandwidth and 100MB at
 SD> the most. I'd prefer if a
SD> fellow Maximus sysop could host it for him. I'd
SD> recommend DSL or better as
SD> there are some good sized files on there.

 BJ> Sean:

BJ> I'm interested in a copy of the old Gary Gilmore's Maximus/Squish web
BJ> site archive. Unfortunately, I'm not setup where I can host it as a web
BJ> site. If you still have all the areas set up with
BJ> FILES.BBS, I could populate my BBS with the old areas,
BJ> which would then make them available via Telnet, VModem
BJ> and BinkP protocols, via either Fidonet Freq's or via
BJ> BBS downloads. If you have the area descriptions in a
BJ> filearea.ctl format that would also help get things
BJ> setup quickly. [I know I have a lot of the files
BJ> already, but I have relied on internet access to Gary's
BJ> archive for the files I haven't got on my system.]

BJ> If you can zip it up and send it to me via a supported
BJ> Fidonet protocol, and then send me a netmail or
BJ> echomail note to look in my inbound, that would work.
BJ> I'm open to discussion of other methods of transfer....

BJ> Right now I could take about 100Mb in my inbound area.
BJ> Once I clean out old (saved) files from the partition,
BJ> that should be over 1Gb. If we setup up a password
BJ> protected fidonet session, I can up that to 2Gb,
BJ> possibly more if the software can handle larger free disk space....

 BJ> Let me know....

 BJ> Thanks.
