Well as far as I know, a mifi is a small battery powered device
with a built in 3g, a router and wifi acesspoint.
During my travels, I almost use the same, albeit powered by the
battery of my motorhome. A small wifi roouter with a 3G usb dongle.
Before that, I used the builtin 3G in my laptop, which omitted the
need for a mifi.
