  It's close for some people who only need E-mail, Internet, and Word
Processing.  Key points: you still have to have a local Linux support
person.   From that point of view, it only makes sense for home systems of
people who also use it for work - the employees of the state of
Massachusetts if they all move to Linux for example.   Otherwise, the Mac
makes it the most friendly.

   RedHat is not the most advanced in terms of GUI-everything.  Other
distributions are better in the GUI area.   My requirements are different -
like absolutely being able to run, not being disabled by the whim of the OS
manufacturer, and pretested, tightly controlled updates.    I can move my
current development into another distribution if necessary.

   There are GUI ways of doing things that I have not investigated since I
want to know how to script things from the command line when I get to that point.
