| subject: | fidoconf broken ?! |
Hello *!
I havn't figured out why and since when, but the recent version of fidoconf
is broken here on FreeBSD 5.1.
It complains about
gcc -Wall -c -s -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -fstrength-reduce -fPIC -O3 -DUNIX -DHA
S_POPEN -DCFGDIR=\"/home/fido/husky/etc/fido\" -DPATH_DELIM=\'/\'
-c -fPIC -Wall
-ggdb -DUNIX -I.. -Wno-char-subscripts -Ifidoconf -I/home/fido/husky/include sr
c/stat.c
ar rs libfidoconfig.a common.o fidoconf.o line.o cfg.o findtok.o areatree.o afix
cmd.o afixcmn.o arealist.o version.o grptree.o stat.o
gmake: stat:.1.9.0: Too many levels of symbolic links
gcc -shared -Wl,-soname,.1.9 \

n.o arealist.o version.o grptree.o stat.o
/usr/bin/ld: cannot open output file .1.9.0: Too many levels of symbolic links
gmake: *** [.1.9.0] Fehler 1
After that I have funny links like this:
lrwxr-xr-x 1 fido fido 6 27 Nov 16:33 .1.9.0 -> .1.9.0
Somewhere the correct names seem to miss. When looking into the makefiles
it's striking that some variable named LPROGRAMS is used like this:
$(INSTALL) $(IBOPT) $(LPROGRAMS) $(BINDIR)
However, I cannot find any definition for this variable; maybe that's the
reason for the missing names above?
I don't have the time to trace this problem back through the cvs right now,
but maybe this description rings some bell by one of the developers of
fidoconf.
BTW: Is this compiling cleanly on other platforms? Can anyone give me a
positive result on, e.g., Linux?
BTW2: "gmake distclean" is also broken for fidoconf. It has just
deleted half of the fidoconf root-dir (makefile.* and so on) here :-(.
Regards,
Gerrit
