-> DA> Ok, so suppose someone carries 15 rounds of Glasers in a DA>
-> crunchenticker. That's $30. They cycle their ammo every 6 months in
-> DA> case it may have absorbed any oil. That's $60 per year. In 5
-> years DA> they've spent $300 on just CARRY ammo, not counting any
-> practice (other DA> than cycling the carry ammo). So yeah, that's
-> more than some DA> guns cost.
-> Yes, but I use the cycled rounds to test their effect on different
-> target objects, so i'm getting something out of them, at least. I do
-> agree that those rounds are expensive, but I feel that it's
-> disrespectful to shoot someone with cheap ammo. Take care.
I can envision are Monty Python-esque sketch.
Bad guy: You shot me!
Good guy: Yeah! So why didn't you fall down?
Bad guy: Because, you ninny, your silly bullet didn't expand.
But seriously, I've tested all sorts of bullets in wet newspaper. The
difference between a normal Remington 185 gr JHP in factory loaded
.45acp (at 1000 feet/sec), or a Winchester 185 gr Silvertip hollowpoint
factory bullet and the expensive $.75 per bullet "premium" ammo such as
SXT, Golden Saber, Gold Dot, Hydra-shok, is minimal to non-existant.
