I do like it:) the new daemons need getting used to. they all use a links node number as user and the session pass as password. and they use the same dirs a binkp ifcico or telnet do. The ftp daemon needs no "cd out" or any dir change. you ul to the home dir and your mail is there in the home dir too. The http daemon lets you d/l and/or delete your pkts and bundles the upload button lets you send your mail to taurus (manual delete your own files). there is also a netmail the sysop button that works:) The pop3 daemon sends your bundles/pkt's uuencoded "Seat" the the mail client that you connected with. The smtp daemon takes uuencoded "Seat" emails and makes them bundles/pkt's/files in your inbound. The nntp daemon is the newest, It reads pkt files from a links outbound file box or the main outbound(less desirable). and sends the messages as newsgroup posts to a news reader. I tested it with a full family net feed to a point address. its kinda slow to start as it has to read and purge old posts before it reads in the new ones. hey if you want to see in action I have a guest/test account 8:8/802.81 session guest vtdl.net 8021 ftp 8080 http 8025 smtp 8110 pop3 119 nntp Enough of my rambleings Be warned I would not recomend the pop3 with that account the nntp is set to a 10 meg buffer size. so there is more than 10 megs sitting in the outbound. --- Virtual Advanced Ver 2 for DOS* Origin: Vested Tyme Dataline (1:132/501) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 132/501 500 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
