ER> EF> So I'm not the only one? Well, there are many of us "older"
ER> EF> gamers (I am in my late 20's) who despise fighting games in general.
ER> EF> One fighting game is OK, but 20? Give me a break! My local mall
ER> EF> arcade is almost all fighters with 3 racers and 3 pinball machines.
I
ER> EF> find fighters quite boring. Seeing how many buttons you can push in
5
ER> EF> seconds before you get pummeled isn't my idea of fun. The real
ER> EF> question is, why do the Japaneese think that what Japaneese players
ER> EF> want, American gamers want? Arcade machines are now test-bases for
ER> EF> the home versions, and since most arcade games are fighters, this is
ER> EF> what I get on my Playstation. How many different versions of Mortal
ER> EF> Kombat and Street Fighter can you have?
ER>
ER> I don't mind your opinion on fighting games, although I love them ALOT!!
ER> But I must correct you on one thing you said. I know for fact the the
ER> Japaneese players and game makers do not like fighting games very much.
ER> There top arcade game and home game played as of today are:
ER> Arcade--Professional Bass Fishing
ER> Home--Some RPG I can't pronounce
ER>
ER> I have been to Japan and when I went to the arcade there it really
ucked.
ER> There were about 2-3 fighing games, ex. Virtua Fighter, Mortal Kombat 2,
an
ER> Super Street Fighter 2. There was hardly anyone playing MK2 which
surprise
ER> me alot. More people were playing Super Street Fighter 2.
Guess maybe the japanese have _taste_. :)
And they are usually pretty good when it comes to games. Perhaps they know
something we don't? I mean, that "RPG you can't pronounce" has GOT to be
ore
compelling then the latest fighter clone. Trends only last so long.
