        A bit above my head this is. As I have resolved to never again
 use the Alt-Space combination, I can say that the problem has been
 licked. And the problem was in my editor, not in BW. The keystrokes in
 BW are fine here but I never need them. Thanks for your dedication to
 my enlightenment.
