MRaG> From: Matt Roberts and Greig Melchor
MRaG> Subject: Dillon County NFB
MRaG> I didn't realize that the national leadership and the aphiliates were
MRaG> different. In other words they operate separately. I didn't realize
MRaG> that the National Leadership operates the NFB, but it doesn't control
MRaG> what individual chapters.
The NFB is made up of local chapters which are collected into state
affiliates.
There are 700or 800 local chapters at least, so there is no way they all
ould
be run, or should be run by a central location. We all use a common
philosophy
and are governed by a constitution, but the NFB is first and formost a
collection of local chapters united by a common purpose.
MRaG> I called Hellena Purnell, president of Dillon County chapter, and
MRaG> talked with her for a long time.
MRaG> Pete, you told me to run for office, and vice president has been
MRaG> handed to me on a silver platter. HOw did you know that Dillon
County
Congradulationson your involvement. I am sure you will enjoy it, and learn
from
it.
