subject: What`s `HST` mean?

PW>>> Wasn't V.FC more popular a little while back?

BG>>> It may have once been slightly more common but it was never
BG>>> more popular

PW>> Hmmm... Which is more noise tolerant -- V.FC or V.34?
PW>> Which is "better" in general?

DD> V.34 won the battle - V.FC has dropped by the wayside.

I have yet to be convinced that V.34 actually achieved superiority.

It was still improving when last crosschecked - but it hadn't achieved
parity, much less superiority.

OTOH, some Telstra engineering measurements quote the v.34 Courier as the
best modem available. Pays your money and takes your choice. (I bought
USR..:-)

PW>> Which is "better" in more "extreme" conditions?

DD> HST of course :-)

That one's indisputable. By how much is interesting - wet finger sez a lot.

Regards,
Dave Hatch.
