We had some role against agressive breeds, but that did not reduce the
number of incidents, so the role was removed.
Agressive dogs that have bitten people are obliged to wear a muzzle.
Our laws are probably not lucrative when it comes to covering damage,
Vrivolous lawsuits are not a good idea, there is no jury to play and
the loser pays all the litigation costs.
Our rule in Civil law is: The owner of an animal is responsible for
the damage caused by the animal.
In 2011 a Staffordshire killed a Dachshund. The Staffordshire owners
defense wasthat he blamed the dachshund for slipping out of his leash.
He was sentenced to the price of the dachshund (800 Euro) minus
100 Euro, the cremation cost, the veterenarians bill, collection fees,
and legal costs.
The minus is 100 Euro is probably, because the dog is seen an asset
that is depricated over its lifetime.
The verdict can be found at:

l-2013.pdf.
Ofcourse it is written in (legal style) Dutch.
