-=> Quoting Dan Ceppa to Nancy Backus <=- JP> BW gives one the option to do this or not. DC> Sush! Don't tell anyone unless they have it set ON! NB> Hmmm... I keep it on.... and then often as not, take it out manually, NB> especially if I'm changing the subject line anyway... At least NB> BW, once it gets put in the first time, doesn't keep adding MORE to the NB> front of the line... :) DC> But, make it easier on yourself! Turn it off! DC> Have you ever seen some messages where the Subject line looks DC> like: re:re:re:re:re:re: and then some? NB> Yeah, it happens all the time in email, especially with a couple of NB> people. MY software only puts in the one Re:, and then never again, NB> but there's at least one that not only keeps* adding the re: but ALSO NB> adds a tab or something, so that the line looks like: NB> Re: Re: Re: Re: and then some. DC> That's the problem! NB> Every so often, if the thread continues, I cut it back to just the NB> one, and watch it build up again... DC> You are evil! NB> I kinda like having the one Re:, though. It makes it more obvious at NB> a glance that it is part of the follow-up to the original message... NB> and with just the one re: it would then thread together all except the NB> original... :) DC> That's why my reply always quotes the current thread. DC> And, yes, it's with a RE: ! And I always leave too much of a quote in. In Blue Wave's: Setup/Configure Mail Reader Preferences Packet Preference Override Message Entry Preferences Insert "Re:" in reply subjects YES/NO Make the normal default setting NO and do a "Packet Preference Override" to have it default to YES for that reply packet. The same thing can be done for: Msg Area Preference Override Message Entry Preferences That way "Re" can be YES in some message areas, and NO in others. ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: BBS Networks {at} www.bbsnets.com 808-839-6036 (1:10/345) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
