The USB controller in the original Pi and friends (USB2) is an OTG
controller that works better as a device controller than a host
controller. If you know how and what it was designed for the performance
it has makes sense. HINT not designed for host controller is a small
stand alone computer. The Pi4 has a different USB3 controller so should
be more competent as a host controller for a "desktop" computer which is
how many Pis are used.
