   Hello Richard!

Fail, you are not making any case that

*Nix translates that Linux AND Unix are ONE IN THE SAME OS.

*nix translates as a short hand for Linux OR Unix as it could be either. Or it
could be Minix too!

You are trying to confligrate this into your own little pedantic nonsense.

The greater good of humanity has deteremined that *nix is a short hand to
represent Linux or Unix... It has NOTHING to do with the likeness or not or the
equaity or not of those OS's...

I've been round the Unices of the time far longer the Linices of today...and
probably a good deal longer than you. And *nix could mean any of the Unices,
after 91 with the introduction of Linux, and later with it gaining a greater
foothold, *nix added in Linux.

*nix = shorthad for Unices or Linux.. You don't have to like it.. you do HAVE
TO LIVE WITH IT! As its pretty much SOP.

Its like many things can have the wrong meaning with shorthand or
abbreviations.. DRM for exameple that can go two ways in the PC realm, and one
is not a positive thing! Context is pretty much the only determination...

Many places will state that Using a *nix like OS to do something, and there
normally are caveats as there can and are slight differences to some things on
Unix v. Linux, but in general another reason that *nix is accepted as shorthand
for Unices or Linuses is that they are similar.. Similar is not the same or
equal.

Enjoy:
