subject: Init Strings

AL> First of all, I have an internal Logicode 33.6 modem, model
AL> 33H-P-CL My question is what init strings do I use to force the
 AL> modem to connect at 24000, 26400, 31200, and 33600 respectively?
 BS> I too have a 33H-P-CL plug & pray modem. Now that I have a new chip
BS> from Logicode I can at least tell what the DCE speed is :-)))
 What was wrong before?

BS> However, as far as the init string I sure hope you get an answer because
BS> I have not been able to find it anywhere. Certainly not in the 22 page
BS> pamphlet that came with the modem. There is a file called ATSUMM.TXT
BS> from the Logicode web page but the best it can do is tell you that you
 BS> can force the following:
 BS> F6 V.32 bis @ 4800
 BS> F7 V.32 bis @ 7200
 BS> F8 V.32 bis @ 9600
 BS> F9 V.32 bis @ 12000
 BS> F10 V.32 bis @ 14400
BS> As I am sure you have discovered, there appears to be no documentation
BS> as to the DCE speeds between 14.4 and 33.6 ...
BS> I will watch this space for any replies that you may get. Otherwise,
BS> since the new chip this modem has performed superbly, connecting at
 BS> 31,200 99% of the time!
So far, I've connected 26400-28800 to bbses with 28800 modems and
28800-33600 to bbses with 33600. But for some reason, when I connect 28800
to a bbs with a 33600, the whole connection freezes 30 seconds after I
connect, then it gives me the OK sign.
