 Hello Danny and Chris
 Generally baud rate and bitrate (bps) are the same. Technically baud rate
 refers to the number of signal changes per second. Modems convert
 computer signals to sound waves and if you've seen what sound files
 look like on the Wav file player in Windows, a signal change occurs when
 the sound wave crosses across the 'centre' line. The distinction
 between baud rate and bit rate came about when with the use of
 compression a signal change could equal a no. of bits. So a
 baud rate of 2400 could equal a bit rate of 4800 or 9600 and so on.
 This is as far as I know.
