| subject: | Re: ATM Flat 10 incher polishing lap |
From: "Vladimir Galogaza" To: "ATM shore" Reply-To: "Vladimir Galogaza" Russ, I am not able to prove it but complex structure of your tool (lap) consisting of plywood, cement, adhesive and pitch is something that I will avoid. Reason is that thermal expansion of various materials, will cause unpredictable shape changes of the lap. Pitch resting on the skin of polyurethane glue will also change its figure reacting on the pressure changes and distribution at polishing time. Pitch on dental stone and nothing else, will minimize those effects. There are so many possible sources for trouble that increasing their number without good reason is contraproductive.
