Yes, By doing several charge-discharge cycles, you can bring back the
capacity of the battery. I use a special charger that performs that
function but you can do the same thing by running your phone till it
shuts off then charging it. Repeat this several times.
You can use any nicad battery as long as it's the same voltage and
connection.
