Rudy,

I don't know where to find a comprehensive listing of all these mouse
chords, but I was just experimenting all possible permutations now and
guess what...

Try shift + middle mouse button. Here it opens the link on a new tab AND
crucially it also changes focus to the newly created tab. :-)
