Beethoven wrote his famous Triple Concerto so as to
showcase the piano playing of his patron's son. The fact
that his patron's son couldn't play diddly merely
presented him with the challenge of how to write a piece
that is complex and exciting and showcases a piano yet has
a piano part which is fantastically simple to play. In
that or any other context it's a work of genius, perhaps
because of its constraints. _Islands_ is also great in
part because of its constraints and limitations.
