BG> Mark, at 20:35 on Oct 21 1996, you wrote to Bill Grimsley...

BG> HST runs as high as 21k6 on USRs with ASL, with a 450bps back-channel.

MG> I think that you are confused with V.32terbo.

BG> Nope, just reporting what USR have claimed themselves.

Oh, yes and someone said the world was flat :-)

MG> Max speed for HST is 16.8k. Max speed for V.32terbo is
 MG> 19200, but with ASL,
MG> USRs will run at 21600.

BG> Have a quote from the Courier manual...

 BG> *******************************

BG> HST 16.8K/14.4K/12K/9600/7200/4800 bps (Dual Standard modems
BG> in HST mode with ASL up to 21.6K bps)

 BG> ****************************

BG> Sure looks like it says 21k6 to me. :)

Would have been nice if you had have said which page number that was on...
I finally found it on page 1-6. Yes, you are correct, that is what the manual
says, but I think that this must be a typo... Have you EVER heard of a 21.6k
HST connect actually happening? If you have a look on page K-1 (Technical
Specifications), you will a similar list to that on page 1-6. No mention
of 21k6 with HST there...

Mark Griffiths.
