WvV> Ok, there is still live... What were the files about?

its not just pictures, as there is seems to me still c coders around :-)

http://www.aminet.net/

WvV>>> I haven't been following the developments around the new hardware

same here, maybe AROS team wake up and find fidonet and the amiga echo ?

AROS = Amiga Replacement OS

WvV> Any news on the hardware front?

i don't know realy, i just hope hardware wonders join fidonet and amiga

WvV>>> Or has it all died out...
BP>> don't say that, it might happend
 WvV> Sorry! ;)

until then its time for UAE to make something, and have it on aminet

 BP>> if i remember you have an a1200 ? :-)

 WvV> A1200? I have a A4000 and a A500 (gathering dust), before that a
WvV> A1000... Is the A1200 an actual machine?

yes it is, try searching http://www.google.com/ :-)

 WvV> I don't remember that...?

a1200 is a lightwigth a4000
a500 do as a a600, but a500 plus is realy just an a600 in hardware where
the a500 ports is still the samme, where its changed on a600 to be like the
a1200 is

and a500 plus have no pcmcia card slot, a600 can only have 2M chip mem, and
if you want more you need a new computer :/

a600 and a1200 can have mem extensions on pcmcia cardslots, but you can max
have 4M internel mem in the 8M autoconfig range so, problem is that the
cardslot is in the autoconfig memory range, for realy no reason :/(

WvV>>> I doubt the amiga floppies I have saved somewhere in a box, are
WvV>>> still readable... It must be more than 5 years since they have seen
 WvV>>> some daylight! ;

its true that floppys not last long, but i bet thay can be if its good
floppys and you did not just put them around the monitor where there is
manigtic things, even c64 floppys holds very good :-)

BP>> thats why i belive its a good ting trade mark to save it some where
WvV> Indeed! Can Amiga floppies be red on a PC?

yes if you are lucky to have a drive that can run 150 RPM :-)

most pc drives can only 300

remember crossdos on amiga ? :-)

WvV> Or do you need to start your Amiga to convert them to files?

that will work yes :-)

WvV>>> + Origin: Amiga Offline BBS Lisse (2:280/464)
 BP>> where is amiganet zone 40 gone ? :(
 BP>> silended died ?
WvV> It's been gone since November 2003, on Don Plesky's own request. He

lol, Don be back :-)

WvV> He is however still listed in de fido-nodelist, so he might even be
 WvV> connected here? Don? ;)

he could atleast use UAE :-=)

 Regards Benny
