TP> Just saw a Tv show : Mercy mission:The rescue of flight 711. It was
TP> made in 1993 and the story was about this guy flying a Cessna Agwagon
TP> from SFO to SYD. He got lost and was rescued by an Air New Zealand
TP> 767. The show claimed he flew non stop from Pango Pango for
TP> 23 hours!! He landed at Auckland and while on finals he ran out of
TP> fuel. Obviously the story must of been dramatised for TV. The show
TP> claimed it happened in the late 1970's. Does anyone have any of the
TP> actual facts of what happened? 23 hours seems a long time! Could an
TP> Agwagon carry that much fuel in it's hopper?
Greetings! I remember that movie.. loved it ;) Esp. Since i'm a native
Aucklander...
Umm ill see if I can dig anything up tho I doubt it...... 23 hours? I
dont remember it being that long...
But as a matter of interest, what kind of Cargo capacity in an Agwagon?
Could it have been used for auxillary fuel?
