dn> My original point is that users of all compilers have the same number of
dn> 'morons' as users. There may well be some truth to the demography though,
dn> but I can't stretch my imagination far enough to see any direct connection
dn> between intelligence and income.
Although this wasn't my original intention, you happen to be wrong here
anyway. H.J. Eysenck, "Know Your Own IQ", ISBN 0 14 01.3518 9
page 28, "Other studies have correlated I.Q. with money earnings,
showing that there also a distinct relationship could be
demonstrated".
There is also an interesting table in the book:
PROFESSIONAL GROUP IQ
Parents Children
1. Higher professional and
administrative 153 120
2. Lower professional; technical
and executive 132 115
3. Highly skilled; clerical 117 110
4. Skilled 109 105
5. Semi-skilled 98 97
6. Unskilled 87 92
7. Casual 82 89
8. Institutional 57 67
The thing I found most interesting about this chart was that at the top,
the children had a lower IQ than their parents, whilst at the bottom the
reverse was true.
I'm sure if a study was done on programming language used, C Programmers
would come up above Basic Programmers too. BFN.
