SM>> tabasco, then move up to the elm barque and then into the real
SM>> stuff. Spanish moss is nothing without cayenne, though.

SM> It almost seems that, the further south one goes the hotter the food
SM> gets. Or, should I say "spicier" ? ...All I know is
that, having
SM> lived in South East Ontario a long time, I'm sure that I would now
SM> find the subtle pleasures of "tundra cuisine" a trifle bland.

The various peppers were necessary in years past as a preservative due to
the lack of natural or mechanical refrigeration. I found that, when I
moved here from the Northern Climes, the use of spices "came with the
territory" as it were.

SM> Why, I might not even be able to distinguish different kinds of lichen
SM> from each other anymore, let alone fully appreciating the subtle
SM> blends of flavor that are possible! What a horrid loss, eh?

To be sure! Though I once thought lichens delectable I have become
accustomed tot he lack of them, and replace the many vitamins and
electrolytes found within them by the ingestion of Gulf seaweed and
supplemental tablets.

Nonetheless, the climate here is quite favourable to my rheumatic knees and
I shall not again see the wonders of the Northern Lights.

SM> Just thinking about the loss of my formerly sensitive palate makes me
SM> want to go console myself by eating a nice onion and mustard sandwich
SM> with a clove of garlic for the garnish.

The cayennes, Jalepenos and > Habnerneros are not to
be taken in bulk, as most humans down here seem to do but a light
sprinkling of each or all of them in a serving of Spanish moss creates a
delectable delight that any visiting moose could tolerate and enjoy

SM>> Speaking of stomach, beware of haggis, no matter what that Mad
 SM>> Moose Mike fella says.

SM> I've heard of haggis and how it is made. All I will say is that it
 SM> certainly sounds "intriguing."

The inside of a sawmill is intriguing, too, if you get my meaning, eh?

SM>> Pink Stuff. Flavour it with wintergreen mint and you'll attract
SM>> lady meese from all directions.

SM> You think? Using Pepto-Bismol certainly does indicate
"sensitivity."
SM> Still, I didn't imagine that having a "sensitive stomach" or
SM> "sensitive bowels" was quite what the lady meese meant when they
SM> talked about finding a "sensitive moose."

It isn't; they like the odour and taste and will travel cross-tundra for
miles (klicks?) just to rub noses with you. Don't, however, pass this info
around much or you will not be outstaning in the crowd of bachelor meese

SM> ...Ah, waitaminute! Were you by any chance just referring to
SM> the pink color as being the main feature the moosettes would relate
SM> to, rather than what type of "sensitivity" was being indicated?

Only if you don't wipe your chin, eh?

 SM>>>> {hiccup} [GRONK!]

SM>>> Very impressive! On the other hoof, if that ever becomes
SM>>> painful, see above remarks regarding the joys of
"Pepto-Bismol."
 SM>>> ;-)

SM>> With a little practice amymoose can do it without offending a
 SM>> soul.

SM> Oh, I was mainly full of admiration. I just cannot seem to get that
SM> full reverberating echo effect for my own "gronk," at least not so
SM> smoothly as you do. What I end up with is more like this...

 SM> GRRRrrroooOOOOOOOoonnnnNNNNKK!

*Very* nice! Reminds of the time I was standing, dozing, on the tracks of
the Georgia Southwestern Railroad when the train to the paper mill came
through.
I oftimes thought to imitate that sound but they left the locomotove in
Bainbridge one weekend and the horns were stolen by a nefarious
gravel-truck driver.

SM>>> I've no idea why, but all this talk about splintered bones and
SM>>> broken antlers has given me the urge to up my calcium intake.

SM>> I've become friendly with a local milk cow for that reason.

SM> That sounds like a good plan for assuring calcium intake. Still...

SM> You've no idea how hard it is, resisting the urge to ask whether you
SM> drink bottled milk or get it directly "on tap." However, such
SM> comments would have been udderly without good taste. Therefore, I
SM> shall refrain from any such questions or comments.

She thinks I'm the biggest calf she's ever seen, eh?
