MM} Pls. help me make Commo accept a 12K
  } connection.
Michael, it doesn't matter what rate the modem connects at as long
as your DTE rate remains at 57600. The DTE data rate is the
computer to modem (or serial port) rate. The modem can talk to the
other modem at 14400, 12000, 9600, etc.
Check to make sure that your modem is set up properly to maintain
the DTE rate regardless of the modem-to-modem rate. In USR modems,
for example, the setting is &B1. The setting &B0 will cause the
modem to change the DTE rate to the modem connection rate, which
will cause the problem you described.
