Too bad. Sounds like this tsx system(?) isn't compatible enough with dos,
since I haven't had any kind of memory-problems under plain DOS, OS/2 or NT.

One can always check the apporpriate check box in RAR's settings-dialog, and
save the settings.
I believe, that only a very small minority has a need for this switch, and
hence the default is to show these high-ascii graphics, since people may want
to see all the statistics, ie. "how much is yet to be compressed" and so on.
