I would imagine that most of the "traditional" mail-order retailers have
not really looked into this method of marketing.  Since 99.999% of their
orders come in through the channels that they are currently using ( FAX,
voice, snail-mail PO's ) they don't really perceive any economic reason
to take on a new method of communication.
Stores which *are* marketing their wares this was are, unfortunately,
probably not going to be as low-priced as their entrenched cousins for
simple reasons of scale.
I would dearly love to see some sort of gear trader on e-mail but until
it can directly compete with the other ways, I do not see it lasting
too long.
